Had a successful time image streaming this morning around 4:00 am - 6:00 am. Clear (still weak, but very present and noticable) and abundant images, voices, memories, etc.

Some learnings and reminders:

  • Do it while close to sleep: before bed, between sleep (after 1st sleep), after waking. Being in this broader liminal state (perhaps Theta Brain Wave heavy), makes the imagery surface more easily and vivid.
  • Much easier to not speak/describe the sensory thoughts out loud, but to instead describe using mental/inner dialogue. Softer, quieter and easier to drop into the “flow” state.
  • There is a “flow” / almost trance state that is reached, which aligns with the idea of it being a “stream”. And as the flow state is reached, the more readily the images appear, fluidly and abundantly like a widening creek that flows into a river. It’s like day-dreaming, perhaps?
  • Remember: verbalizing, even though it doesn’t feel like it, actually does help the flow/imagery to increase and really get going/keep going. The key is to just use inner-dialogue, and not feel the need to speak out loud. The verbal mind needs to be soft and barely present.
  • Spend less time describing autogogic imagery, and just do typical phantasia/sensory thought description. Emotions, songs in the head, shapes, themes, describe them all.
  • No need to use a recording device. It’s another thing to worry about and thus break you out of the flow/non-verbal mode.
